Lind Butler Psychotherapy
“People seek counseling looking for better ways to relate to the world. Counseling provides individuals with time to focus on their lives in depth, to reflect on problem areas, to come up with goals to help them feel better about themselves, and to improve relationships. Life's challenges can present an opportunity for growth and change.”
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Marriage and Family Therapist. As a "Marriage Friendly" clinician I have more than twenty-eight years experience helping people with feelings of depression, anxiety, relationship issues and family problems.
My personal life experiences, integrated with my years of clinical experience, have deepened my effectiveness as a psychotherapist. In the context of a warm, supportive, safe environment, people learn to get in touch with, and appropriately express, their feelings and needs. This is enormously important for success in intimate, as well as work relationships.
In this fast paced life, people often loses touch with who they are and what they really want. Psychotherapy facilitates the discovery of one's inner needs, while learning to build more satisfying intimate, family and work relationships.
My approach to psychotherapy is humanistic, psycho-dynamic and relational. I view healing of the whole person as part of an individual’s natural development and growth. This therapeutic process provides an introspective, empathetic focus, aimed at understanding, removing emotional blocks and moving toward ongoing growth.
After assessing the individual's concerns, needs and goals, I make psychiatric referrals when necessary for prescriptive treatment and work closely with the psychiatrist, so that collaborative treatment planning and treatment options can be considered.
I believe the relationship between the client and therapist is where the most significant healing occurs. Psychotherapy becomes a creative process, incorporating mindful attentiveness to one's self as well as the self of the other. The healing of mind, body and spirit merges into a solid foundation of the integrated self.
